Philosophy

My educational philosophy is rooted modeling exemplary teaching values and morals I have learned as a veteran educator. I will continue to model those values as a technology coach working with educators. I believe deeply in this quote from Dr. King, “Intelligence plus character–that is the goal of true education.”(Foley, 2024). As an educator I continue learning new technologies and educational trends providing coaching to new and veteran staff.
As a technology coach, I will listen and build a personalized lessons for each teacher in my coaching sessions. Encouragement in my words, behaviors, and lessons will increase the potential of growth for teachers (Teach4theheart, 2025). Some teachers are intimidated by technology and it is my responsibility to build your capacity. Some need a refresher on software and hardware. It is my responsibility to coach you and build your capacity in becoming more confident using technology in your classroom. My lessons will have the teacher being an active participant in each session. For the last 10 minutes of each session, is focused on checking for understanding in a conversation. During this time I am taking notes, receiving tips for the next session and providing clarification questions. Seeing educators become students, and seeing joy learning new concepts is my passion. As a future technology coach it is my responsibility to learn the latest trends in educational technology. After learning, I will design lessons for a diversity of teachers using scaffolding strategies. Teachers need the same strategies as students when teaching new concepts and this provides modeling instructional techniques to teachers at the same time.
As stated before, I want teachers meeting intelligence with character educating paying it forward to our students. Our students learning 21st century skills to thrive with intelligence and character (Foley, 2024).
